COUNT DOWN TO THE GIG
6 years ago I was living on the streets and had made a small wooden shed on the back of a closed down pub my house. With only rats for company I dragged my way through each day without a future ahead of me.
Fast-forward 6 years....... to 3rd March 2020
Ant Blackbones released his first album with his band Shackle Free while headlining at the world famous venue The Underworld in Camden.
Living on a boat on the canal in Camden Ant started to write songs which people began to get hooked on, with their devastatingly raw emotions and brutally blunt lyrics and his unusual hypnotic rugged style of guitar playing.
It started out as a duo, after Ant had met and become friends with Al Raven in Camden Market, where Al was working. They quickly got a number of songs together and with encouragement from their friends, they secured their first live gig in The Monarch in Camden.
On a Tuesday night 100 people came to hear the new sound that Shackle Free had brought to Camden.
Over time Shackle Free took shape, becoming the band that people recognise today.
With the hope of venues re-opening Shackle Free will once again be playing at The Underworld in Camden.
Its been a long time coming, but this gig will be incredibly special.
Come along on Friday 6th August for an event that you will never forget.
We also have headlining gigs booked at The Fiddlers Elbow, Kentish Town on Saturday 4th September 2021 for the Camden Rocks Festival, all day event.
& at Amp Studios on Friday 17th September 2021
